With 15 hospitals opting for Epic in 2023, they continue to be the leader in EHR hospital market share. Nearly 36 percent of the acute care hospitals in the U.S. use its platform.
Strong EHR Purchasing
EHR purchasing was strong in 2022 and 2023. Improved interoperability and revenue cycle stability were major trends in EHR purchases. Epic increased hospital market share and number of beds; they added dozens of hospitals and thousands of hospital beds to its market share. Oracle Health (Cerner) registered a decline in beds and Meditech lost overall market share.
