Artificial Intelligence in the Oncology Lab
Everywhere you turn people are discussing the future ramifications for AI. Here are three articles about the advances and uses of artificial intelligence in the diagnoses of cancer:
AI for Mitotic Counting
AI Mitotic Counting algorithm was demonstrated effective for cutaneous mast cell tumor, breast cancer, lymphoma, lung cancer, melanoma, neuroendocrine, colon cancer, and bladder carcinoma.
AI Diagnoses Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
A new study by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) confirms that AI effectively detects Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Researchers reviewed 135 peer-reviewed studies that used AI to detect PCOS.
AI Predicts Esophageal and Stomach Cancer
New AI accurately predicts esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) and gastric cardia adenocarcinoma (GCA) three years prior to a diagnosis. The Kettles Esophageal and Cardia Adenocarcinoma prediction tool (K-ECAN) examined data regarding EAC and GCA rates in over 10 million U.S. veterans (findings published in Gastroenterology).
